Last night while you were sleeping in your warm bed, a young woman living on the streets was raped; a young man was beaten ruthlessly in a dark alley. All this brutality was right outside your home. The young woman will likely suffer the same degradation repeatedly without physiological or psychological treatment. The young man will likely die from infection from the untreated wound.
Thousands of Utah’s teenagers live this nightmare each day, and the responsibility falls on our community to correct it.
The Utah Homeless Youth Resource Center is in desperate need of your help. This summer, our small student group will be holding a drive to collect donations for them. Look for our drop boxes around Salt Lake Community College South City campus, where you can donate much needed items like clothes, underwear, socks, batteries, deodorant, and other basic items. With your help, we can save lives.
